(LHHS) The Light Hearted Hack n' Slash Game (III)

"I don't suppose you know anyone that does magic so I can feel somewhat a part of this? I'm not one for writing plays, although if you want help on this I guess I can see what I can contribute."

Brawn replies honestly and excitedly, "You make weapons?! *odor of excitedness*
There not many weapon-makersss in my tribe.
This is the besst one we can do - I've used it well, but I've ssseen people make lotss of neat weapons ssince I left home.
"
"Yes, I'm training to compete with the other young knights for the position of Divine Knight. I train with my father to be a better rounded person, with the blade of the Mithril Knights to increase my connection with that which is holy, and with the hammer and blade as an Iron Knight of the peace. It's tough, but good work. My rivals are many, and the path is rough, but the dedicated will win the day."

"I'm not sure I understand? I know a few 'mages' from the guild, and I know a few Telvanni 'magi', but I'm guessing your real problem is that well... your mind isn't open to the arts of an actor. For you see, despite all my innuendo, I have not actually been speaking about any writing."

"And as for that, were you ever planning on becoming a Telvanni Magi or a Guild Mage?"

Darkwolf said:
"Would you explain both of those? I haven't heard of what the guilds teach."
"I'm no expert on the guilds. I know the underbelly and membership in and out, but not much for policy or benefits. I do know you almost always pay for a license, unless it's given as a gift or the guild recruits you for your talants."

"As for what I know they do, well, they provide facilities, beds, equipment on order, and services or aid in different ways depending on the guild. I know the Telvanni have one of the largest and most advanced alchemical experimentation devices in the city of Philidoor. The Mages are less secretive, and they have a great deal of different magic at their disposal. One thing I know from personal experience, the Mages uphold the law, and will fish out corrupt members through their bureocracy. The Telvanni don't really care about who is in their order, so long as he obays his betters and serves his purpose well."

"I've busted more than one Telvanni dealing with black-market spells and components."

OoC: It's still night, isn't it? The following is assuming so.

IC: "Maybe it would be best if we headed for sleep. A helping hand is of no good if it is too tired to help."

"Well, I'm a night watcher myself. If you have any questions for me, the earliest that I can see you is late evening tomorrow. My attendant can see you a bit earlier, maybe sometime in the afternoon."

Jayle turns to everyone, "If you need me, I'm a light sleeper. My room is in the officer's quarters, the farthest mark on the women's hall is mine."

Jayle walks off, but the Impressario remains in the room, waiting to see if anyone else is leaving for the night.

"That's pretty neat.
My people have a holy champion, too.
His name's Dragonbait - he's very respected.
One day I hope to be as known among my tribe as he is.

You must be very respected among your people too, Jayle?
"

(Ok, well the above post by me happens after this one, since it only makes sense that way chronologically)

Jayle ponders, and thinks of how to reply to that, "You know, in perspective, I assume your tribe is smaller than my city, yes? Well, that being the case, despite the prestige of my position, I'm not very well known in a city of many famous people. The Slate Brothers, the High Cleric Ronald, the many famous knights of the order, the merchants guild head, no..."

"I am not so famous here, I am merely another holy warrior, unmarked by the trials of the many others here. I am in a position no greater than your own, the city itself is so large that the names of legend are more epic than in homely places like where you must come from."

She thinks a bit more on something, then states, "Well, before you return to your tribe, if Allimon is on the way, I would like to visit this place. That is, if your people would see me as a guest and not an aggressor, and so long as it does not discomfort yourself or your companions. If you would be kind enough to inform me, if you conveniently pass by, before you return, please do not feel imposing. I would most enjoy being an adventurerer in a wild and unknown place, where I would be free from the confines of a city, if only for a brief working vacation."
