(LHHS) The Light Hearted Hack n' Slash Game (III)

Khala runs along side the woman, "Why are those guards chasing you?"

Khala shouts to the guards, "Don't you think 9 vs 1 is a bit unfair?"

The woman curves out of your way, and runs on past you. You glance at the blanket and notice that it contained what appeared to be a very hairy child. She rushes still forward out of the city.

The guards run past, save two that accost you, "What are you doing? Your in the way of the law. That woman's a slave on the lam and your aiding her if you don't at least TRY to stop her! Stupid lady, why'd you do that? You coulda cut her off! What r'we gonna do about you?"

Their hearts are still pounding out of their chests, as they are completely out of breath.

"What is the catcher's reward for her? Or how much is she worth? I'm sure I could make it your while to go the other direction."

"Hey, listen up, it's not like we are after her because...

we're after her because she's running. She should understand her position. She's got a cub too, a half Khaji. She's the mother of a freakish little girl. We get paid to catch her... not much really... a meal and drink, a bed and breakfast, and a night or two on the town when we get paid every month."

They look perplexed, and concentrate for a bit. Then one whispers over his shoulder to the other, and the one who just recieved the message says, "Six copper. That's what she's worth."

Oddly enough, it sounds like they are trying to exagerate her worth. Their ability to disguise their intents is incredibly bad...

"6 copper...You are to return to her owner and tell him that she escaped but he is to be paid for her. Here are 4 silver and 5 copper, a half a silver for each of you. Tell the owner to meet me at (name of inn Khala is staying at) at 7 tonight and he'll get what she's worth. He's to ask for Khala."

The thugs look you over in confusion, and take the money out of your hands the second they see the opportunity. The start running down the street in the direction they came from. They seem, oddly, and disturbingly happy with the pitons of money.

Soon enough, you notice the streets clear as the disturbance gradually seeps back into memory. It seems that the only really noticable point of interest in this area is a small sandstone statue in the center square, in the shape of a great heavily armored paladin with long hair and a chipped battleaxe held in his crossed arms.

The people are pretty loosely gathered, but you do find that some spectators can point you on the road leading just outside the city and into the outer slums.

Following this trail isn't too tough, the early morning dew makes the ground a bit muddy, easy to notice fickle tracks even for the untrained. You follow the road along, and find yourself in a shanty town.

The dilapidated buildings everywhere are made of wood with thatch roofs. It's a huge contrast from the inner city, especially the religeous district. Some Khajitte and Argonians dwell along this outside edge of the city.

I posted a class in the OOC thread for examination. Take a look over for me. I havn't completed the requirements, but it's specifically for arcane spellcasters, and the theme has to do with the dry wastes and tundra in the north.

Khala looks around for the woman for a few minutes before deciding she is beyond seeking in the time he has left and walks back towards the church district.
