[Libris Mortis] Bleakborn: how do you kill it?

Except that as dust they have 0 abilities. Its never really stated how somehting like this should pan out but is a troll who gets disinigrated troll dust or just dust. I'd say just dust so the regen or bleakborn ability doesn't work.

Unless you're playing 3.0, I believe this is incorrect.3.5 Disintegrate does indeed do hp damage. It merely, as a secondary effect, turns a creature killed by the spell to dust. Dust which then, per the bleakborn's Heat Aura ability, starts to re-integrate itself.

The Disintegrate spell has 2 effects:

1) It does hp damage.

2) If it reduces the target to 0 hp, it also disintegrate the target.

A human who gets tagged by disintegrate and is reduced to exactly 0 hp dies. It doesn't die from lack of hit points (it never reached -10 hp), but from the second effect of the spell.

I'd use a troll as an example, but since trolls take subdual damage from disintegrate, they can never be reduced to 0 hp by it. But the Bleakborn doesn't regenerate, so it isn't so lucky.
