Life on Mars

I enjoyed the few I saw. I liked the contrast between the '70s cops acting like they were on the Sweeney and the modern day approach to policing by the lead character.

It's a strange but clever way to still make a 70's cop show today. I'm curious on how it will evolve: it might become like a regular 70's cop show or stay in the sci-fi zone with one leg.

What does this show have to do with life on Mars?

My favorite David Bowie song...

It (Life on Mars by Bowie) is playing on... I want to say the main character's name is Sam? It's been a few months since I watched the series... radio when he gets hit by a car, sending him into the coma/timewarp. It's also playing on the 8-track in the car he wakes up in in the 70's.

Like I said, I watched the series a few months ago and thought it was great. The second season is supposed to air late this year/ early next year, I believe. I'm not sure how long they'll be able to stretch out the coma plotline without it getting stale, especially now that they've covered the reason for the recurring vision of buckle shoes and running through a forest that pops up throughout season 1. I think I'd like to see season 2 either wrap up the series with him coming out of the coma or else wrap up that whole issue and leave him in the 70's for any future seasons. I think it'd still be a fun watch even without the constant impending doom/waiting to wake up.
