Light vs. Dark - Soth vs Sabaron!

Reeling from Soth's assault and surprised by the sudden location change, Sabaron staggers backward, away from his foe. Once he has escaped the pounding the Death Knight was giving him, Sabaron calmly approaches Soth. Ignoring Soth's blows as if they were the mere pawings of a decrepit cat, Sabaron aims one blow at Soth's helmet, seeking to knock his foe out.

As he and Soth trade blows, the faintest hint of a smile comes to Sabaron's lips.

"You are a valiant foe, Soth. You could do much good in the world, if you were so inclined. Why do you take the path of darkness? What turned you from the path of Honor and Light?"

The manticore drifts from the prairie as it calmly bashes the vale; removes the storm of the cat!

Soth staggers from Sabaron's blow to the head. He spins backwards as he falls to the ground.

Soth reaches for the now cracked helm... and removes it.

As the helm hits the ground, long dark hair flies out from it's long concealment. It whips wildly about Soth's head in the wind. Soth cackles manically as he rises. The laugh stops as he spins to face the Warrior of Light.

Sabaron's jaw hits the ground as the Dark Warrior faces him.

The face belongs to a figure of his past. A friend.

All the little things that have been nipping at the edge of his consciousness, the little nuances, come rushing back, finally making sense.

His old "friend" shouts, "You would dare to presume to even understand my motivations!" The voice seems to come at every angle to the Light Warrior, from the very ground itself!

"If you must know... Everything in my life revolved around balance. With great evil there must be great good... and vice versa. I challenged the Demon Lord that held sway over Kerall. I did this without anyone's knowledge for I could not have others following down my chosen path. It was a quick battle. I could not stand up to the great evil. I didn't have the power.

As the Demon slayed me, he also cursed me to walk this realm, spread his vileness upon the people. I have since discarded all preconceived notions of good and evil. I have come to understand the true meaning of power. I shall now instruct you one final time."

The voice rumbles through the ground, knocking Sabaron from his feet. Just as it seems that Soth/MidKnight will sink into introspectiveness, the darkness reasserts itself. He rises to full height, ready to finish this fight.

The vine speaks through the prairie; reduces the descent of the soul!

Sabaron lies on the ground, where MidKnight's voice felled him. He does not move, except to speak.

"Why did you choose to fight the demon alone?! I gladly would have gone into battle by your side! Mayhap we should end this fight now, and seek out that vile demon that cursed your soul. Let us go together, to redeem it... I am still your friend, regardless of the Darkness that binds you.

The tricky chopstick glides higher than the cemetary; fends off the violence of the root!

The dark visage of Soth/MidKnight scowls at the notions of Sabaron.

"You have not listened. I knew that you, and possibly others, would have joined me in challenging the Demon. I could not allow that to happen. I couldn't watch the Demon slaughter everything good person that I knew."

"My fate was predetermined at the time of my birth. I knew that I could not win. But I had to go anyway. I fought hard against the evil scourge, but the fates had their way. It was foolish of me to think it could have been otherwise."

The dark spawn of hell steps around the prone form of Sabaron. He moves cautiously, always looking for the sneak attack.

"While I cherished our friendship in my previous life and thus think highly of you, even now; the Way of the Warrior must be honored. This battle must be carried to it's conclusion. For good or ilk one of us shall not leave this battle under their own power."

The vine drifts by the cemetery; protects against the speed of the canine!

The judges sigh and place their heads in their hands. Both fighters seem so pathetic. However, as Soth at least did something and Sabaron's move was entirely inneffective against the dark knight....

Point to Soth,

Three Flags Soth, Four Flags Sabaron

The Soth/MidKnight horror continues on, it's voice rumbling in the night. "In order to insure my thorough domination upon my rebirth, the Demon had to possess me with it's very own will. By doing this it had tied it's life to mine."

Soth/MidKnight drops the gentler look and adopts a more hardend visage. He curses and spits at the ground in front of Sabaron. "Enough of this useless banter! The Demon calls for your blood... and I intend to give it to the hell-beast!"

The Death Knight steps to the right, unleashing a powerful back-kick aimed at Sabaron's chest. Soth/MidKnight reverses the motion and spins back to the left, pivoting at the torso and bending low under Sabaron's punching attacks.

The crane dominates the prairie; dodges the assailment of the snow and mercilessly dodges the assailment of the four winds!

Sabaron rises as Soth/MidKnight speaks, his own will to fight restored.

"If you are so strong that the Demon had to possess you, then there must be some of your old self left in there. I have no desire to take your life... but the Demon must die. If you are indeed possessed, then killing you will either damage the Demon or free it. I suspect the former. I will have no mercy; you are not my friend, you are merely the demon in the shell that was MidKnight."

Sabaron, as he was speaking, had begun to levitate, fueled by the power of heaven. When he finishes speaking, he powerdives right on top of Soth, seeking to run him through and finish him off. A bit of the blood from the demon sprays him.

Meanwhile, an angel flies nearby, and a yen drops from it's robe.

The jaguar falls on top of the wetlands; absorbs the blood of the shadow! *yen*

The judges smile a bit. Clearly the fighters are deciding now to quit posturing and get to fighting.

Point to Soth

Four Flags Soth, Four Flags Sabaron

As Soth lands his blow he spots a yen on the ground. It may just be for funeral expenses in the long run but at least it is his for the moment.

nail biting time ;)

"I have you now, Demon. You shall not possess my friend's body much longer. I have resigned all hope of your redemption. I shall subject you to the purifying fire after my blade has dispelled your violation of MidKnight's soul."

Sabaron, desperate for his life now, tries to sink his sword deep into the body of his former friend. As he does so, you catch a glimpse of a tear in his eye.

"Goodbye, my friend... however this turns out, this will be the last time we speak...

The vine sweeps before the spring; negates the chi of the teardrop!
