Lighting based creatures

First Post
Hi all. I have the "Church of Talos" as one of the 'enemies' in my current campaign.

Was just wondering if any of you knew of any lighting/talos themed creatures that I could use and what books to find them in?

Things like lighting elementals?

Nothing offical comes to mind atm...

however, you could simply take a Fire elemental, strip all references to "fire" and replace with "electricity" and you're done.

Don't forget Behirs (monster manual). Storm giants are possibilities too, but they're relatively nice so not very likely to be Talos worshippers. Blue dragons and brass dragons are both lawfully-aligned and so unlikely to follow Talos.

Lessee.....The only other kinda-lightning related critters I can find at the moment are:
Fiend Folio: Thunder worm (CR 21).
Monster Manual II: Tempest (CR 16)
Both are elementals, and rather powerful, cloud-like monstrosities.

Thanks.

Currently I mostly have two types of people they're dealing with in battle:

1.
Cleric (leveled appropriately)
Staff (1 charge of lighting bolt)
Electrical Longsword
Few other misc items

2.
Fighter (leveled appropriately)
Full plate, half plate - heavily armor
Electrical Halbred

Five priests can get together and cast a call lighting spell collectively.

Was just looking for a little bit more variation for the players.

Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil features
shockers
, who are described as
'sparkling blue humanoids made entirely of electrical energy'
.

Tomb of horrors has a few bolt based foes IIRC.

Creature collection 1 IIRC has underage uncontrolled sorcerers called storm children.

Flesh golems like electricity

Electrical para-elementals showed up in the manual of the planes.

Just wanted to mention, those electrical weapons can add up to a lot of cash and fast.

Take an existing creature (e.g. a fire elemental) and change its description; instead of fire it's a shape of crackling sparks, and it does electricity damage instead of fire damage. You could change the residual fire damage to a stun ability, or leave it as is, with some electo-slime stuck to the target.

Take a displacer beast and say it looks like an outline of TV static that wavers and flickers in and out of visibility.

Storm Elementals are in Monster Manual III, p. 48. I suggest checking out their picture at the Art Gallery of the WotC site.

I've used them, and they work well for a "lightning" theme. They have both Lightning and Thunder(sonic) attacks. Another good suggestion is to use a Fire elemental, but substitute electrical for fire damage, and swap out a sonic special attack for the burn SA of the Fire Elemental.
