You assume that it is Fists only. Yes by RAW you can use it with any melee weapons. But by RAI you don't... only an idiot DM would do that.
Seems like you want to maximise your possible 2H weapon damage. Right.
If you insist on using lightning fists, then take it... take 2H strike... which lets you use your unarmed attacks as 2H attacks. Then take the melee barbarian variant, and utterly rape stuff.
Or use Chaos monk, as it's better, and follow same sort of procedure
