Likes: Powers, prayers (etc.) being the same level as um, your level. Well, you know what I mean. That change.

Dislikes: Er, everything else (from style through to marketing.) Honestly. But please, don't anyone make an issue out of that: it needn't be one. It's simply my opinion and my perspective, and yes, I have read through the books, the previews, the blogs, the discussions, etc. I would like to've liked the new edition, in some ways. Alas, there's been just about nothing to draw me in, and that's still the case.

IIRC, [ts] is a "typo" in the widest sense, as it is basically mark-up code for the multiplication "x" sign. ;)

Yeah, that was an odd one.

[w] is explained somewhere, but don't ask me where.

Start of the combat chapter, where it talks about power damage. It's also noted in the Equipment chapter, buried in the text somewhere. One of the more frustrating things about reading the Powers was the forward-referencing of things like that. Especially where they were reusing a term from older editions, but had repurposed it for the new game.

Though I believe if you read the book from start to end, you won't miss anything. But who does that with a gaming book? ;)

I did, pretty much. I skipped most of the powers for Paladins through Wizards, most of the magic items, and most of the rituals, but the rest I read in order. I intend to do the same with the DMG, and parts of the MM.

I applaud your diligence and willpower. ;)

Though I did it pretty much like that, but I didn't bother reading all those powers in the first go, and I think I jumped most of the combat chapter. I already knew a lot from the excerpts and the playtests...

See my post #50 in this thread:

Hey Danny!

One lil hint... check out the link in the top right corner of every post. That's quite handy. :)

Missing Gnomes

They are in the MM (as a PC race). ;)

Saving Throws. Kinda lame, if it's 50/50

Almost... 55/45.

They're not saving throws, they're a badly named duration mechanic.

Yes, I see what you mean, but it still seems pretty odd.

And you're here... why?

Hey, I said "no discussions, please" initially, that must have drawn him in! :D
