Links to RPGNow/DTRPG, etc. (including links to your own websites)

OK, folks, you've all heard the news. RPGNow and DTRPG are now one company, and EN World has an affiliate site which is a mirror of that merged store. All products at one of those sites will appear at both of them (and, thus, at the EN World affiliate store), and your commission, etc. is to be the same at each. In the long term, the two sites will physically merge into a new storefront (and the EN World affiliate store will automatically mirror that).

So... when posting your press releases and such at EN World, please ensure that you use EN World's mirror URL, not the parent store's. This makes no difference on your end, but ensures that EN World is credited for the sales.

In addition - if you sell your product at RPGNow or DTRPG, one of the conditions of allowing you the free publicity here is that you link to the affilate store. This means not linking to your web page instead, as that bypasses the store, and EN World dosn't get any credit for those sales. Because, folks, that's just not fair.

The EN World affiliate store is located at: http://enworld.rpgnow.com

Note that news scoops should follow the same pattern. Thanks for your understanding!

Actually, this is pretty cool. As a publisher, I don't get hit with the affiliate fee and EN World gets its due percentage from the advertising I do here. Same with RPG.net. That works for me. :)

I have a question about the affiliate pages.

If I navigate to my product page, let's say Alien Invasion, for example, and see that customers actually purchased the product, am I seeing customers from Enworld, or just relayed information from Rpgnow?

It's a literal "mirror" with a skin thrown on top - the page will show exactly the same as you'd see if you went via RPGNow normally.

James said that he'll be able to report to publishers what percentage of sales came from the various affiliate stores, though. I don't know how detailed that will be.

I take it you would now consider it acceptable to have links to our products for sale through the ENWorld affiliate in signitures and such in posts made here at EN World?

You've always been able to do that - but yes, it is certainly acceptable. :)

Is there a direct link to the affiliate pages on the front page?

If there is, I'm not seeing it.

It's in the dropdown menu at the top of every page.

There'll also be a sidebar type thing on the news page once RPGNow puts something together (I imagine James is pretty busy right now, though!)
