In its own way, the cleric is perhaps the most iconic class in D20 fantasy gaming. It has less of a basis in myth and fantasy fiction than any other class, and owes its current place in the scheme of things not to the sources that inspired the game, but to the game itself. Some players feel, however, that the use of domains does not sufficiently differentiate clerics of one religion from clerics of another. Whether you’ve come to this conclusion on your own, or whether you’re an old-schooler who misses the more varied priests of older editions, Lions Den Press author Ari Marmell has your solution: The Priest of the Celestial Spheres.
The first installment of the Classes of Legend line of new base classes, The Priest of the Celestial Spheres presents a replacement for the standard cleric. The priest’s available spells and class abilities are entirely determined by his selection of “spheres,” or areas of divine influence. Like domains, spheres are determined by the priest’s choice of deity, ensuring that a priest’s powers are firmly in line with his patron’s interests. This PDF also features an assortment of new feats and over 30 spells.
