Listen, Summon Monster, Invisibility, The Girl, the Gold Watch & Everything

I wonder how practical a nice waist-level Spiked Chain sweep would be for locating an invisible person. I doubt it would be equivalent to an attack, but it wouldn't be terribly pleasant and it might help allies.

Ha! Reminds me of that Lost in Space episode where professor Robinson was losing a fighting match to this little midget that could turn himself invisible....until he took off his belt and swung it around until he heard the "ow"s, and then narrowed it down to where the midget was hiding. I always thought that was clever of him...but then, I was like 8 years old at the time. :D

I thought you guys might find a situation that happened in our game recently interesting.

Our DM likes it when we use spells creatively, especially little used spells, so much so that he usually lets us get away with things as a reward for trying.

We wanted to catch an invisible Deurgar(sp?) Dwarf who was getting away. Luckily he was on some sand at the time, but he was quickly leaving the sandy area.

When it was my turn to go, I used a Create Water orison targetted to fall just ahead of the lead footprints...and it worked! We were able to track the water clinging to the wet dwarf even after he left the sandy area. His wet outline was visible enough to engage in melee and the fighters in the group took him down, thanks to a zero level spell!
