Howdy. I can't find a reference that says how much materials add to listen checks. The listen skill notes that it is +5 through a door and +15 through a stone wall, but it is a far cry from +X/y in. of substance. Using these numbers it would seem easier to hear through wood than stone 
Average door approx. 3 in. thick. That is +5/3 in. for wood. Average stone wall is probably 18 in. thick. That is +5/6 in. of stone. Even if it was a conservative 12 in. thick, that would be +5/4 in. of stone.
