Along similar lines - magic related blueprint type documentation.
Ah, right. In Eberron, an object like this is called a schema, and they've been the focus of a few adventures. Technically they're magical objects, in that they have an aura under detect magic, but they have no magical abilities per se. Their only function is to be combined with other schemas to make a complete blueprint.

If the OP is looking for categories of treasure, I'd probably call this category "Information," and also divide it into a few subcategories:
- "Blueprints" would be instructions for making things. Some will be useful to PCs themselves, like plans for a golem or an airship. Others, like a diagram of a new barrel scraper or the recipe for a delicious cream sauce, are less useful but could be sold off.
- "Secrets" would be things like adventure hooks, like the map to a lost treasure, or clues to the identity of a wanted murderer. The PCs can either follow up on the hook themselves, or sell it to another adventuring group for a finder's fee.
- "Knowledge" would be purely academic information, the kind of thing only a sage or university cares about. Maybe it's proof of the birthdate of a classical poet, or a drawing of courtiers' garb from the last century. PCs could sell this too, if they managed to find an interested buyer.

The DMG mentions Trade Goods - fabric, bulk foodstuff, metal ingots. Basically, any raw or mostly raw materials that need work to be turned into something useful.

Gems
Jewelry
Statues/statuettes
Books
Paintings (inc. tapestries)
Candlesticks, chalices, plates, dishes, cutlery - (not sure what I'd call this category)
Spices, incense
Mirrors
Clothing
Furniture

make them masterwork or give them properties so they can overcome some obstacles like (rust monster touch or acid from an ooze) or make them ornate with gilded precious metals/gems/artwork

tools (hand, garden, artisan)
containers (bottles, bags, sacks, boxes, crates, chests)
animal gear (saddles, leashes, chains, toys, harness)
torture items
laboratory items (glassware, dissection kits, pickled brains)
pots and pans (mundane kitchen)
living things( a plant from a far off land or other plane, a cricket that only comes out of its matchbox case once every hundred years)

Candy.

Towels.

New clothes, nice shoes.

Keys to locks which are not present, thus provoking a bit of mystery.

Pictures. Imagine what illithid pornography looks like.

old books.

I once gave an old book as treasure. It was half alchemical formulas and half journal of an avariel alchemest that demonstrated his descent into madness from his own perspective. The last page (blood stained) indicate that he was going to summon an alien god to protect him from the (seeming obvious paranoid delusions of) conspiracy against him.

Dating the book places its age at the aproximate date of the unexplained extinction of the avariel.
