First Post
So I about to start an game of Fate. For my store RPG beginning day. Day is for any new to rpg that want to tried different systems or new to rpg in general. So my lucky have it that I go to run the Fate core system.

This is first time i'm going to run this system (most dnd guy) and think I get little more than I can crew at the moment.

So store owner told me that I had an hour to play with 15 mins breaks between the hour. So since store is play three fantasy and star wars rpg. I thought I can do like an firefly/ space western theme. I thought of pregen characters sheet and information sheet about the skills. I made the characters sheet gender neutral. Becuz you spend like 20-45 on characters create alone and I don't want that.

So here what I need help
1) how to write for one-hour adventure
2) how to build encounter (scenarios)
3) what tool or models I can help with getting into character
4) artwork for science fiction royal-free artwork or soundtrack to get them into mood.

Thank you and u thought if anyone can help is people at enworld forum.

I'll start with music as there are lots of options. Some of my go-to locations are

As for art plenty of stuff around on the web to use as long as you are not looking to publish any of it. Google and deviant art can find all sorts of things. Do give credit where you can.

Sounds like you already have some characters in mind. Maybe leave as aspect open for each character to let the players customize their characters a little, or at least give them the option to.

If you have one hour to play you likely are only looking at one scene. I would go with a scene that has a very clear goal. (e.g. blood sport arena survival, stop the runaway ship from crashing into a populated area, find the spy in a crowd, or just steal a scene from the show)

In my opinion Fate is better at story than combat so give players an interesting environment and let them play with it via declarations. As this is a game to teach everyone the system you likely will need to lead by example here so come with a few example declarations.

I hope that helps. Good luck.

Consider running it in Fate Accelerated. It'll give them the same taste as Fate but it's simplified--fewer aspects, simple stunts (although you can make them complex), and an intuitive skill system that needs very little explanation. Another boon of Fate Accelerated is that having approaches instead of skills will allow each character to contribute in any scenario. So, for example, you could run a social scene and have each character able to contribute without having to build "social" characters (high Cha, bluff skill, diplomacy skill, etc.)
