Living Greyhawk

I haven't really paid much attention to Living Greyhawk, But its been more than 6 months since I last gamed and I need my fix.

This whole having a social life thing prevents me from gaming regularly. So I'd be interested in something like LG where I don't have to show up every weekend or the like.

Can anyone shed some light on this great mystery for me?

Hmmm, you didn't read the clause in the PHB saying that there would be penalties for a social life?!?
Obviously there must be repercussions. You will have to be flogged with a wet noodle for your transgressions.

Well you can get the character creation rules a the RPGA site (a link can be found at the WOTC site). You make a character following the rules and you can play in LG games. I believe you also have to be a RPGA member. You will have to find your local RPGA affiliate to really get involved on anything approximating a regular basis. I would recommend attending the next local gaming convention, and find out the details there. You should also be able to score a few LG games as well.

I believe most of the character creation and "house rules" (called "RUP"s) for Living Greyhawk can be found at http://www.living-greyhawk.com - which is not the official Living Greyhawk site, but it's a site that one of the campagin officials maintains, since WotC doesn't update the official site in a timely enough manner.

Most regions also have mail lists, which are a great place to post requests for information about your area--or just look in the mailing list's F.A.Q. A lot of these mailing lists are on Yahoo Groups, so just go to http://groups.yahoo.com and search.

Of course, sometimes local gaming shops host a Gameday, so you could check your local shops to see if they host any events. Most regions (at least in the US) have several conventions each year, where they premiere new modules and do other fun stuff. Many conventions put flyers in the game shops, so look for those as well.
