Looking for 3E D&D Game In NYC Area

forumite

First Post
Hi. I'm looking to join or help start a new gaming group in the New York City area. This can either be in New York City or on Long Island. Weekend playing time is best for me, but Friday is possible. I'd prefer to play but willing to GM if necessary. It is relevant I do not drive, but I'm ok with taking the LIRR and the subway.

Thanks

Jerry

I live in Bay Shore. My place isn't available either as a meeting spot right now, but I'll see what I can do. I'm aware of RPGA at Neutral Ground. I work Thursdays and can't attend. Plus, I'm not that thrilled with the Living Campaigns. As I've been told and now agree, RPGA means "Role Players Go Away". I do have a character and have played a number of scenarios of Living Greyhawk and might again, but I am looking for a normal campaign. In normal campaigns in addition to roleplaying I can have my character pursue goals I want to do instead of being pigeonholed into Living Greyhawk's Railroad.

If necessary of having to rent a table or something for a place to play at Neutral Ground, I wouldn't mind pitching in for that.

Neutral Ground doesn't charge for table use any more, you can just walk in.

I'm a Brooklynite who is considering running a d20 Swashbuckling Adventures (World of Theah, which isn't exactly D&D), 3.5 Ravenloft, or a homebrew fantasy world. I have another player for the Swashbuckler campaign. I was actually planning to use Neutral Ground. Would you be interested?

Sorry, wasn't clear in my post. We play at my house (in Bellmore), but the campaign itself is full. I've got seven active players and one or two who are on something like a wait list.

Check out that yahoo group in my previous post though, it's a pretty well read resource.

A game in Brooklyn...

Jerry,
I run an original campaign in a home-brew world called Aquerra. I'd be interested in hearing your ideas, questions, concerns in seeking out a gaming group. I play at one of two places in Brooklyn - either my house, or that of one of my players. I have started a story hour for my game (though am now tragically behind... :( ). Check it out if you'd like. It may give you a feel for what I run/how we play. You can find it here:

More information on Aquerra itself can be referenced here:

E-mail me and let me know, thanx.
