looking for a beastman like playable race!

There's no converting to do. Use the stats as written, since they use the same stats. In the case of wookiee rage, you can simply either allow it as a rage ability that never improves as written if not playing a barbarian. If playing a barbarian, you can simply them them an extra rage per day or use the rage progression as written.

Stats no, background info within greyhawk or any other D&D world may not be easy as you think without making them not fit in either D&D world.

That all depends on how detailed the setting is for your group and how close to canon that you want to stay. That's all kup to you and your DM. I run a homebrew setting, and I found a place for both the wookiees and the weren. In a published setting, it may be a bit more problematic, but like I said that's up to you and the DM.

I am with Kane here. If your DM don't have this race to GIVE to you in the first place then it is going to require you 'making it fit the world' anyway.

I see someone posted the beastmen. I remember them from 2e and have the entry in my Monstrous Compendium.

It seems there are MANY beastmen here, yet none satisfy. I think you are therefore going to find it extremely hard to find something that works. I mean getting a beastman 'to fit' IS going to be difficult if the DM hasn't already made a place for them in the world. :heh:

Aleghi, Monsters of Faerûn, 9 HD monstrous Humanoid, LA +2, Both their looks and personality fits the bill perfectly, can't reproduce their stats here, sorry. But that's where they are.

Ok guys, frst I like to apologise for a couple of post cause if lack sleep and awarrness. Realizing what goblinoids are and how unique they are and Bugbears are goblinoids. My fear is that the typical goblinoid or a bugbear may not work in a good/netural/chaotic party or in cannon greyhawk world since this is for a back-up charcater for Adventure Path 2.
