Looking for a DM Monster Tool

First Post
Hey one and all - I have been out of DnD for about two years now (a sin, I know) but am back at it once more. I am the DM for my group and what I would really like, in terms of a computer program, is something where I could printout a small, index sized card for each monster the characters will fight. I don't want pages and pages of info for each monster. Just something nice and small with the basic for reference like AC, Thaco (just kidding!) and all that. Nothing fancy. And it would be pure frosting if the printout had a picture of the monster too. I would love to do this for magic weapons as well - a picture of the weapon with its powers listed below.

Does such a program exist???? And if not why not! Thanks in advance.

Monster cards

It is not a program but there is a pdf from The Othergaming Company (I think) that makes 9 cards to a page for all the SRD monsters. It even has one for every dragon age category. THey are very nice and easy to use (especially if you sandwich them in for initiative cards) but there are no pictures.

And if you're willing, you could fill a "group" in DM Genie with the monsters you're going to use in the next session, then cut-n-paste the statblocks into another file for printing. This would also give you a log of all the previous monsters you've used, along with any tweaks you've made. (I know I tweak my encounters!)

Also, DM Genie has a "character sheet" system similar to PCGen in that the sheet can be modified so that only the information you're looking for is displayed (although DM Genie doesn't have a "group sheet"). This would make it easier than cut-n-paste, but would require the up-front work of deciding which information you wanted and how it should be presented. (But I've done this and it's pretty easy to do.)

(Note: the DM Genie statblocks are still the old format.)

Monster 3.5 by Scott Metzger (available from this page) will output stat blocks which could be printed from your browser or tossed into a word processing program and printed onto cards. It's not one-click automatic, but it's free.
