Looking for a Mounted Paladin Prestige Class.

Artoomis

First Post
With everything that's been published, I am wondering if I've missed a Mounted Paladin Prestige Class.

It would, in essence, add to mounted combat abilities and the mount's abilities at the cost of spellcasting progression.

Other paladin powers would continue to advance.

Anyone seen a published class like this?

Windrider comes to mind...

The name's deceptive. It applies to dire badger riders, griffon riders, and any other non-horse mount.

Extra mounted combat abilities, extra mount abilities, no spellcasting progression I believe.

But no progression of other Paladin abilties, right?

Correct. As far as I know, there is no smite+mount+layonhands+mounted combat abilities Prestige Class.

Though you could always create one. In fact, such a narrow range of targets would make it a rather good niche to fill for a campaign setting organization.

There is a layonhands+turn undead+spellcasting+remove disease prestige class that has mounted combat and ride-by attack as it's prerequisites. But the only mounted combat abilities it gives you are those that you can pick through its bonus feats (not bad), and there is no mount progression or benefits for your mount (:().

The Windrider has its own spellcasting progression. It is not a "+1 to existing class" structure, but an independent progression with an independent spell list.

Wouldn't the Cavalier from Sword and Fist accomplish this for you, Artoomis? No spell progression, lots of mounted combat abilities, and the only paladin ability you would lose is the ability to remove more diseases per week.

You'd also lose further advancement for Lay on Hands, which is Paladin leve x CHA bonus HPs of healing/day...wouldn't you?

Yeah, you would, as well as more damage with your smite evil ability and turning undead. Nevermind, must not be thinking today.

The only two mount improving classes are the Paladin and the Windrider and the windrider is far superior. Druids have improving mounts of a sort.
