Looking for a player to fill a spot

Hello,

I am looking for one player to fill the role of a character who is no longer able to play in my PbP game. The game is a freeform game set in a low fantasy prison. The game is very grim and gritty. Due to this, I am not running the game here, but at my site. I’ve included a brief rundown of the game below. We currently have four dedicated players who have committed to approximately one post a day.

I ask that mature players only respond to this request. Characters should not expect to overthrow the guards and win freedom all in the first week in prison. The theme of the game focuses more on survival and the effects of prison on the character.

Because the game is freeform, it demands a great deal of trust between players and GM both. I look to provide an environment that provides each character with a number of options, many of which may contain moral dilemmas. You are free to do as you please within this environment, but most if not all actions will have consequences.

If you are interested, feel free to post here or on my site and I will help set you up for the game and share the rest of the character concept with you then. While it would be good if you could read the entire happenings to this point, it is not necessary. If you decide to join, I can fill you in on what has happened, including events surrounding this character.

The basic concept of the character is listed under parts labeled Korra in the first post. There is more to her, but you should be able to get a good idea of what you would be playing…basically a female who was disguised to look like a male and exiled to this prison.

The Kingdom of Kerendau has been besieged by its island neighbor to the east, Decandu. War has torn the nation apart over the last five years as the Decandese have advanced. The people of Kerendau fought hard against the onslaught, however in the end, Kerendau’s military was not strong enough to make a stand against the forces of Decandu.

The even after the Kerendau government fell to the Decandese, the people of Kerendau resisted the invaders, forming rebel groups who combated their new rulers through gorilla tactics.

The Decandese response to the rebels was quick and harsh. The Decandese stormed villages, killing men women and children. Others were captured and sentenced to military prisons, where they were destined to spend the rest of their lives.

After a brief stint in a kangaroo court where your character was sentenced to life in Hellmaw. You were then shuffled out the backdoor of the courthouse and placed into a holding pen. The person in front of you and the one in back of you were taken to another line, one approaching a guillotine. As you breathed a sigh of relief and muttered a prayer of thanks under your breath, the person standing next to you told you not to count your blessings just yet.

“The Hellmaw,” he whispered “is an island prison that has housed Kerendau’s most vile prisoners for centuries. What waits there for us could very well be a fate far worse than death.”

What lies in store for your character? The fight for Kerendau will be a roleplay intense grim and gritty game set in a gritty fantasy world. Your character will experience the trials and tribulations of prison life as he struggles with every choice he makes, weighing his personal values against his ability to survive in the Hellmaw.

Will your character have what it takes to survive? Will life in the Hellmaw make him abandon his values, or will he face tribulations to maintain the ideals he holds dear. Will he be able to escape and reclaim the life he had prior to the invasion? Will he set out for vengeance against Decandese?
