Looking for a Race

I've been scowering the internet trying to find a race that resembles a werewolf except does not have the whole moonlight, silver, evil aspect. I'm basically looking for an animal/human hybrid who gets bonuses according to the animal. If anyone can outline one for me or direct me to a good site with a race similar to what I'm looking for, it would be great. Thanks.

Spellslinger has a race of humanoid wolves that might fill the bill. There is always the anthropomorphic templatefrom some D&D book as well (Savage Species?). There was a Genetech article in Dungeon for the D20 Modern rules, it dealt with genegineered animal races. You might want to look at the 4th Edition Gamma World game too. It had decent animal mutant rules and there is a PG generating program available for it. Palladium's -After The Bomb- was reprinted in the past few years and it was quite good. Hope that helps.

Ooo, ooo! What you could do is get the Crossbreeders book from Mongoose and make your own "Wolfman" with different traits...

Or you could just nerf the Werewolf by trading one weakness for another.

I would recommend the Crossbreeders book myself...

Mystic Eye had a Wolfen race. PfC Ranger, automatically came with the Scent feat. I think they give its info for free on their website.

Oriental Adventures includes Hengyokai, which are infection-free animal shapeshifters. Not sure if they have a wolf one, though.

Tome of Horrors has a 'Therianthrope' (a generalisation of the old Wolfwere and Jackalwere) template, and I think wolf is one of the examples. This might also be what you are looking for.

The book 'Mystic Warriors' from Mystic Eye Games has the Wolfen Race. It isn't a shifter though. Let me know if your interested. I'll post what I have if you are. (No sense typing if you don't want it).
