Looking for a refresher on golems...

Hey folks,

A while back, there was a question on wether or not a golem could, as creatures with Spell Resistance can, lower its magic immunity so as to allow spells to affect it normally. I believe the example was so its creator could teleport it around if needed.

Anyone remember what the consensus was on that? Or at least have access to that thread? Or, failing that - know the answer? (Though I'd hate to waste space with already asked questions).

Thanks,

J from Three Haligonians

Memory serving, they can if they are expressly ordered to and will keep it down until they are expressly ordered to bring it back up, or perform another action that would preclude them spending their standard action to suppress.

Magic Immunity equalling infinite SR, and SR can be lowered at the creature's option. It takes a standard action to lower it, and it'll snap back into place unless the creature continues to spend an action each round to keep it down. SR doesn't interfere with its own abilities (such as a clay golem hasting itself), and also means that spells or spell-like abilities that don't allow SR (Melf's Acid Arrow for example) trump Magic Immunity.
