Looking for a ride.

I'm looking for an appropriately powerful mount for my Planetar Paladin/Sorcerer (it's a high powered game). From any WotC source, what's a Huge Animal, Magical Beast, or Good Outsider less than 14HD that can be ridden and has a fly speed?

How about a half-celestial elephant?

Problem is... “Half-celestial” is an inherited template that can be added to any living, corporeal creature with an Intelligence score of 4 or higher and nonevil alignment (referred to hereafter as the base creature).

An elephant has INT 2. Otherwise that would rock. I've been trying to figure out a mount for an 18th-level character. Currently thinking of a gold dragon.

In the Book of Exaulted Deeds, there is a feat that Paladians can take that gives thier mount the half-celestial template.

Celestial Mount [Exalted]
Paladin level 4
You actually get to add the celestial template, not the half-celestial. So they do not gain wings.

Still have to mull over a huge flying creature.

Apply the half-celestial template to an awakened elephant! :)

Edit: or apply the half-dragon template to the elephant.

Ah yes. My beloved half-dragon template. How I miss thee. I slapped that bad boy on many creatures. My players feared the packs of evil half-blue dragon dire rats!! Or the half-red dragon barbarian minotaurs. I went template happy when 3.0 came out. The ghost lich vampire lord.

Umm... don't most undead templates specify that it has to be applied to something ... you know ... non-undead?

Yeap. It was a human. Could have been anything, but I guess I just assume human as the default.
