Looking for a Sci-Fi RPG

I think Paizo's Starfinder would cover the classic fantasy races bit. Though, when I go Sci-Fi I go with Traveller.

If Traveller, I'd go Cepheus Engine, not as much baggage for a homebrew campaign. Cepheus Engine System Reference Document - Samardan Press | Cepheus Engine | DriveThruRPG.com

There is also M-Space, it is based off Mythras/BRP, so that character development is richer, and more directed by the player. It has a 2nd edition out now, pod on dtrpg -

My go to sci-fi rpg is Coriolis the third horizon. Add to that the Atlas Compendium and you can generate all the systems and planets you need. It's a class base system but far less crunchy than Starfinder.

Character are in the Third Horizon sector. They are cut off from the Second (and First) Horizon sector because the wormholes collapsed. You could do a space search for a way to return to the Second Horizon as campaign concept.

During space combat everyone is attributed a ship station regardless of the character. Which means no down time for anyone.
