Looking for best programme for prestige class entry, etc.

First Post
I'm currently searching for a good programme that will let me create characters, monsters, monster characters, and magic items.

I have a number of books with prestige classes, and I would like to simplify creation of characters for myself. I've gotten to play with e-Tools, but I've found it very limiting, especially in not being able to build new classes by any stretch.

If anyone can help me find a good programme, it'd be highly appreciated.

Thanks!

P.S. - I'd forgotten just HOW long it takes to generate a good NPC with pencil and paper.

I suggest Campaign Suite for creating or adding in anything. I grew frustrated with all the other programs out there when it came to facilitating all the weird features, abilities and requirements that I was finding in the WotC splatbook Prestige Classes.

Campaign Suite seems to handle almost everything and it's a matter of just learning how to use the menus rather than learning Excel or code.

The person who created and maintains it, Chris Johanson, is always updating the software - which is a free download btw.

Anyway, the best thing to do is download the demo and mess with classes. The demo doesn't allow adding more than 12 classes I think, but since there are already 12 classes, I believe you have to just delete some of the ones that came with it or just play with ones that are already there. For instance, if you changed all the parameters for the fighter class, you could simply make it what you want. No class is really hardcoded, so you can modify anything.

Hope that makes sense.

Bottom line: back in March I was frustrated with some other programs and the lack of ease in adding anything. I happened upon Chris in the Psionics.net chat room and asked him one question about CS: Can I add anything? His answer was yes, and ever since I have found him to be right.

Veander :)

P.S. NPC generation is quite easy if you use what they call "professions" which are in essense NPC templates (skills, class, race, feats, equipment). For instance I have four professions called (Military Archer #1, #2, #3, and #4. So when I am creating Military Archers (from the Prestige class in Librum Equitis), I have four seeets of differently prepared archers to generate. So you don't end up with Archers with skills and feats that are inappropriate, these professions are completely configurable.
