Looking for campaign management tools

I've also started using the XP calculator after combat. Works pretty well, but it needs an undo button. There have been a couple of times I've thrown in an ad-hoc PC or NPC and forgotten to set the CR/level correctly.

The notes tab hasn't been of much use to me. It's handy to have along with the rest of GM Gen, but it's a bit primitive -- just a step up from using Notepad for your game notes.

What do the players use?

Our group is slowly growing in laptops. I think we are up to 4 right now. Some use etools for their characters. HeroLab is starting to take over the etools use. Its setup more for live play like what you describe and is easy to customize.

When I DM...

Well, I've use DavidRM Software's "The Journal" for my Adventure / Campaign management for a few years now. It's helped me keep everything organized and easily and quickly accessible.

I use a local copy of d20srd.org. It's even better now the local copy has the built in search tools.

PCGen has replaced eTools for on the fly character creation.

NPCGenerator for intelligent and quick npc generation.

Excel for initiative and round tracking.

When I'm a player...

I use my pocket pc. My character is in MSWord and I have the local copy of d20srd.org on my PPC as well.
