Looking for long clubs...

I'm interested in modeling a polynesian inspired culture for an upcoming game session. One thing I've decided on is that the warriors from this culture will use really big clubs, that is to say, a club with reach. I'm looking for previously published suggestions on statistics for the 'long club', names, attributes, etc. If you don't have that information memorized, where can I go to find it?

The polynesians apparantly used a weapon based off the oar which they call a 'hoe'. Does anyone else know of historical examples of long clubs?

Well, there's the quarterstaff...if you ignore the double weapon aspect, it makes a perfectly good two-handed simple weapon...and, by definition, a staff is a long club.

I'd say if you really want reach, then make it as a spear, just make the piercing damage into bludgeoning damage.

No need to reinvent the wheel on this one.

My campaign is set in Mythic Polynesia so may be able to help. 'Hoe' is actually the word for 'Oar' and yes they were used as weapons. Other types include Hoeroa made from the jawbone or rib bone of a sperm whale, the Uru (aka Ururoa, Ulu, u'u) which featured prominantly in the movie Rapanui, Tewhatewha a staff with a weighted head (not an ax), One that is more axe-like is this one from Samoa. I've seen examples that are about 5 feet long. There are also weapons that look like broad bladed spears which are in fact used as clubs so the range is huge

Anyway I ruled (as Corlon suggests) that these weapons are analogous to those listeed in the core books (mainly maces, but also axes and halberds as some of the polynesian long clubs had 'sharpened' edges (as much as you can polish hardwood to sharpness anyway))
