Looking for module advice

Thanks for the praise of Of Sound Mind. One great option not yet mentioned here is Ed Cha's Hamlet of Thumble. It's 3.5, and superb for first-time DMs.

Also take a look at Ed Cha's Village of Oester/Whitehorn modules. A well fleshed out campaign starter that will give you a lot of mileage. However, together, they cost about $30.00 plus shipping, when you can find them. But I like them, so I am glad i bought them.

I'm so glad to hear that you like the modules! They are good value because you can use them over and over (lots of reusable settlements, NPCs, rules, etc).

only cuz i have a harder time converting them to OD&D.

I ran Death in Freeport as my 1st ever adventure for 3e. Both I and my players enjoyed it. There's several extras available on the Green Ronin website and other modules that continue it if you like the first one. Death in Freeport has recently been re-released as a PDF with updates for 3.5.

Another intro adventure I've run is called Evil's Lesser Minions by Pinwheel games. It's a very easy adventure to handle both for the DM and players. It might be a bit tricky to find though. I managed to grab a copy from a store going out of business and have never seen it anywhere else.

I own Crucible of Freya, but have never run it. As others have mentioned, there are some really tough encounters in it which can kill low level characters.

Also, it makes me want to get "Of Sound Mind" as soon as possible.
