Try to make one thats al D&D all D&D names and races. But has the basick idea of the well world. Ive startid the first step in plats and places for those that care.

Well World

Interesting premise. How are you doing it? Are you planning on mixing technology levels as they do on the Well World?

What about storyline? Is it the Well World? Or something similar? Do PCs assume some new form? What about all the psychological stuff that usually takes place in the novels? That would be rather hard to roleplay. What is the purpose of this world? Is it the root world from which all fantasy worlds derive their races, etc.? Or something else?

For creating new races, the heroes, monsters, and villains of Theah book has a good random monster generator as well.

Always liked those novels...

I think the two people are missing are the pair that take place AFTER Nathan and Mavra deal with the Krang in Gods of the Well of Souls....

I think one of the books was called "The Sea is Full of Stars".

Banshee

Go take a look what im doing in plots and places and add to it if you wish. My last count I have fond over 50 races to far to be there ill get into more of it when I get 60 races. Random race seleshen will become posseble. Then ill extrat the racel mods from the MM and other sorces. If your will to help in any way pleas do. I dont have any of the resoserecs that most people do. I might take a look at the netbook of races.

One of those prime Rules of Dungeoncraft comes to mind: never create more than you have to. If you're looking to run adventures and such in the Well, don't think you have to have all 700+ races detailed out. That way lies madness. Just create the five or six that people will likely want to play or interact with and use the others as set decorations, described in a scene but not statted out. If something/one becomes important, then do the race associated with it.

There was also an official RPG based on these novels published quite a long time ago. If you can find it, it might help you decide how to translate those specific races into 3e. I have a copy somewhere, but I've got no idea where it is right now.

Perhaps you can find a copy on ebay.

Jack L. Chalker himself didn't go into major detail for more than about 10-15 of those 760 races. I don't see why you feel you have to. A little 2-3 word phrase for the 100 or so races in the area will suffice nicely. Let your PC's come up with some strange idea for a race, find a name on the map that looks good, and put them there!

In general, you will find people willing to help... if it involves giving you ideas for making the process easier, or if you want to ask for opinions on how to properly emulate the Agitar electricity generation in d20 terms. You will probably not find anyone willing to collaborate with you on your project... it's essentially your baby and there's a reason most sourcebooks have only one author.
