Looking for some campaign assistance

So the avenger in my game is going with the Covenant Agent paragon path and part of his story for the character is that this path is very rare (as it probably should be for the church of Erathis) and as a result, he will be publicly disavowing the church (and vice-versa) though in actuality he is in fact being sanctioned by the church (just that only a few members know about it). Hopefully that made sense.

The question comes in that he is bringing in two of the party members as his "confidantes" to his choice. Outside of a couple members of the church, these two PCs will be the only people who know that he really is working with and for the church. My thought was to give these two allies some sort of title to go along with their inclusion, but I'm drawing a blank on a term that sounds appropriate and cool. Any ideas?

As a practical matter its not a huge deal, but I was hoping to make this something that helps with immersion. i.e. its rare that the church allows someone to go down this road and as a result there are two designees who are chosen to protect and advise him and make sure he doesn't stray too far from the path. The best I've been able to come up with is consiglieres but while that sounds cool, it would no doubt cause everyone to immediately think of the Godfather, etc.

As always, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

How about Sacerdite? It's a made-up word based on 'sacerdotal' and the Italian 'sacerdote.' Basically, someone who is associated with the priesthood.

Or for something more long-winded: Hieratic Confidante or Hieratic Executor?

You could just call them witnesses. Often a seemingly mundane term makes the best title, and the notion of bearing witness to religious events is evocative of various judeochristian testaments. Literally when one testifies, one is bearing witness.

Thanks for the ideas guys! I definitely have a good place to start now. Not sure what I'm going with yet, but it'll be better than what I had. :p

Shepherd. They're clued-in to guide the Avenger and keep him/her on the rails. They're people the Avenger can trust. And they're people the Avenger can look to for protection.
