Thanks, Guys. I will work towards a rather bare-bones conversion at first, and we can always expand on it afterwards. Also, remember that we can only print those things that could obviously derive from the OGL, so as not to enter into any legal issues with this effort. Fortunately, there have been a number of D20-based products released that contain the core of the ideas that most people like in regards to an OGL Fantasy Saga system. So long as I have sources to quote in Section 15 of the OGL, we're good.

For example, the skill system is a combination of the two variant skill systems found in Unearthed Arcana, which is 100% OGC.

Condensed skills came from Arcana Unearthed and various RPG releases since then.

Much of the combat innovations have been done in various OGL products, including True20, OSRIC, Spycraft, etc.

Classes can be inspired by D20 Modern, Grim Tales and the Fantastic Classes PDF, not to mention Classically Modern.

"Players Roll All The Dice" provides inspiration for the defense scores approach.

Any other thoughts or suggestions?

It looks like a conversion of Fantastic Classes for Fantasy is on the docket, and we'll have an Advanced Class product soon that does for Advanced/Prestige Classes what Fantastic Classes did for base classes, so if those come out soon enough for you, they will be all OGC.
 

So Flynn, should we use this (completely hijacked ) thread to discuss the elements of the saga fantasy system (SFS) of fantasy saga system (FSS) or what ever you chose to call it, or will you start another thread?

I'm thinking brainstorming what must and what should be included, what issues are paramount to fantasy and so on.

I just noticed this, and this thread has kind of petered out, but I just wanted to point out that our company is called Big Finger Games, not Bad Finger.
