Looking to buy a projector, any suggestions?

It's going to be a topdown mount on the ceiling. I have a 8' ceiling, looking for affordability more than anything.

How does this look: ViewSonic Projectors: ViewSonic PJD5152 DLP projector

Also, this one looks a lot cheaper and seems like it'd do the job: Newegg.com - ViewSonic PJD5122 800 x 600 DLP Projector 2500 Lumens 2000:1 (typ), 3000:1 (dynamic)

Advice please!

I do recommend the ViewSonic PJD5152 - as you can see from this post, it's the one I chose to go with for my own projector rig. It's a short-throw projector, and I have mine mounted about three feet over the surface of the table. If you mount it to the ceiling, you'll be in great shape.

You could probably save some money by going with a non-short-throw projector, but I'm not sure; your projector is probably going to be about six feet above your table top. I'm guessing the latter one you linked to would probably work just fine.

If you have any questions about using a projector rig for gaming, just ask!

Nice! Thanks a ton for the info. I'll probably go with the same one you've got. I really like the stand setup you have to make it portable, or even collapsible so it's not always out.

I'm not sure if you've seen this, but it is really cool and I can see how it'd be super awesome for D&D: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5s5EvhHy7eQ&NR=1&feature=fvwp]YouTube - Low-Cost Multi-touch Whiteboard using the Wiimote[/ame]

Besides the wii remote you will need a bluetooth dongle.
This will works great with maptools.
I have about the same rig setup as OnlineDM. Only a few minor differences and a different projector.
