Lord of the Rings musical?!

I stumbled upon this link today and thought I would share. I'm not sure if it's news, but it's news to me. Lord of the Rings is being made into a musical:

There was a very funny LotR 'musical' done in Mad several years ago (which also did musicals of Star Wars and several other films). Comedy gold.

Depending on how this is being approached, it could be silly, or it could be utterly sublime. I'm afraid that the latter, however, would probably require the reincarnation of Richard Wagner to pull off right... and that's probably too much to hope for. But we'll see.
