Lords of Madness Stuff (Update: Some folks have it!)

DMH, I assume he was asking about stuff from Lords of Madness.

Well, to start is the half-farspawn template in general. I love it - it's very Dunwich Horror in flavor and appearance. There's a number of aberrant feats in the book, granting skill bonuses, natural armor, tentacle attacks (the half-farspawn already has these, though), swim speed, and even flight on membranous wings.

More of the equipment goes towards fighting aberrations than helping them, but there's a few items that jump to my mind; the mask of the chuul, for example, grants paralytic attacks from the mouth tentacles.

There's not much psionic support, sadly. No new powers, for instance, and the only psionics PrC is devoted to fighting aberrations. There's a spell in there I'd think would be a good psionic power, though. The spell is undulant innards, and it grants temporary resistance to crits and sneak attacks, as the caster's organs move out of the way of powerful blows.

Demiurge out.

non-euclidian template ... amorphous template ... arboreal template ... scarry pseudonatural squirrels ... pseudonatural ogre-amalgam cheetas ... and so on

Just go with pseudonatural half-shadow dragon half-drow catfolk vampire. (See the "Pseudonatural half-shadow dragon half-drow catfolk vampires in the Realms" thread for more details.)

Uh, no. I didn't mean that all of them were to be applied to the same critter. And, well maybe I didn't answe his question, but hopefully he found something of interest.

DHM,

Hey you referencing what I consider a great monster book (Advanced Beastiary) is a good way to go. But yeah he probably wanted stuff from LoMd.

i got to today (thanks thalmin!) :) i was not disappointed. in fact, i'm liking it more than most of the new releases since 3.5... lots of slimy goodness in there, and i'm worried about how much of this stuff i'm going to see in Keeper of Secrets' next CoC game.

Btw who or what is the Patient One?

new, as far as i can tell.

Grrr- nothing about naga or ix rays (I am not going even try spelling that).

not nothing, just very little. more like a footnote.

By the way, which ability scores does the half-farspawn template increase (or decrease)? Also, what's its LA (if any)?

The Patient One was originally in the Book of Vile Darkness.

The half-farspawn has Str +2, Dex +2, Con +6, Wis +4, Cha +2. They are LA +4, although I think they're a bit better off than half-fiends or half-celestials and would suggest LA +5.

Demiurge out.

Bad: Nothing on cloaker, naga, Ix rays or ethergaunt societies

Nagas are covered in quite a bit of detail in Serpent Kingdoms. Shame about the others, especially ixitxachitls!

Cheers

Dang! I thought DMH was poking a bit of fun at Kobold Avenger by listing silly monsters and non-existent templates like "non-euclidian", and now you're saying it was serious? There is a "non-euclidian" template?
