Just that one feat is already very powerful, depending on DM rules interpretation.

After all, the Loremaster text doesn't say you have to qualify for it as you would normally - just that you gain "any one feat."

Potentially true, but it doesn't have any text overriding the general rule that you cannot use any feat you fail to meet the prerequisites for, so gaining a feat you can't use is of dubious value...

Correct; you would also need a DM that played fast and loose with the separate concepts of qualifying for a feat vs. benefiting from the effect of a feat. ;) I'm sure that rings some bells amongst forum regulars.

Also, some feats you can use even if you do not meet the prerequisites (consider that many feats have "can only be taken at first level" in their prerequisites.) And a build might want some feat that would later prove useful - I might want Quicken SLA for when I later gain an appropriate caster level for my SLA, or if I later plan to gain a SLA.
