BACKGROUND
Each of the characters has come to Lorindar, city of dwarves at the northeastern tip of the great Lake Valdorane. The bustling city sits on a rise above where the wide river Kivik pours into the lake. A great broad stone bridge spans the lake just north of the large walled town.

The city is full of hill dwarves and some mountain dwarves, but does have a sprinkling of humans from Mittendien, halflings from The Shire, and an occasional diverse visitor. Lorindar is a tolerant settlement by dwarven standards and even lets humans live within town limits without a permit. In it's famous market, a hill dwarf from the countryside can come and see all sorts of people trading, selling, buying, and otherwise existing side by side for perhaps the first time in his life.

The characters have recently arrived in Lorindar (none have to know each other) and begin at the marketplace where they are watching a human entertainer juggle knives hoping to woo a few silver pieces from the onlookers...

I have created a "board" for our game on www.playbyweb.com. I have no idea what I'm doing at this point, so we'll all figure it out together. :)

We'll spend a few days figuring things out before we start. Post here your character ideas, we'll figure out playbyweb, then we'll hit the ground running.

I plan on playing a Hill Dwarf. He will start out as a Fighter and then Multiclass as a Barbarian. Eventually, I plan to guide him towards the Dwarven Battle-Rager PrCl. He has to be blessed by a Cleric of Galvar at this point.......

Oh, and he has a rather large and sometimes foul mouth. His willingness to go out and find enemies (mainly orcs) rather than be happy with merely defending his clan makes him a bit of an outsider. The fancy tattoos don't help much either.

My character is Fib, a wonderful sort of chap, cleric of Lunakav (hey, haven't heard of many others worshipping the god I made so why not me? :D ) preferring the chaos aspect though he has a touch of madness about him too. Alas these things combined sort of force him into the life of a wanderer as when one promotes chaos, even if they take efforts to keep subtle about it, one tends to find they aren't welcome in most towns and villages. Not that he's ever caught perse... simply having the forsight to promote his dieties ways and move along. Debating whether I want multiclass him as a rogue cleric or simply keep him a cleric. I'll wait and see who else shows up...

Grendl grew up in the area of Lorindar. He is chaotic in nature also, which is not popular with Dwarves. The Dwarven community recognizes he is touched with the fate of someday being a Battle Rager. This gives him a modicum of respect, but also tends to make him somewhat of an outsider. His temper and mouth don't help matters much....

Cleric and a fighter. Sounds great.

Firehose, as is the case with most of Falinus (eastern Thoradur - land of the hill dwarves) the areas outside of the cities is fairly wild. The settlements are mostly steadings because of the hostile nature of the country. So there are plenty of opportunities for "wild" barbaric dwarves to grow up. Should work just fine.

Ren, very interesting cleric. If we get a third player (perhaps a more moderate type  then I think we'll have a very interesting group. :D

now, play by post I may be able to handle :D

How about a Mud Dwarf Sorceror name Sud Meferget?

If the Cleric is insane enough to accept a Mud Dwarf companion, it should be fun lol.

Are Mud Dwarves smart enough to be sorcerers? I know they use Charisma, which Mud Dwarves lack too....... this oughta be real comical. A barbaric and fightsty Hill Dwarf, a looney Cleric and a not-so-bright Mud Dwarf sorcerer.

Motley crew is an understatement. Reminds me of the Looney Tunes: I'm Yosemite Sam, Renfield is Bug Bunny and Reckless is the Martian.

BTW Northman, my nick is Firehorse. ;)
