Lorindar: the play by post adventure

Okay, Fib is on, his character sheet is made in all it's tedious glory.

Oh, and when should we start posting?

Hey Guys, do you have room for another player?

Of couse I would prefer to play a Lizardfolk as I want to get as much testing in as possible. As there is an established trade for metals having Lizardfolk occasionally turning up in Thoradur is not unreasonable.

Hi Silverglass,

Oh yeah, join the group by all means. I'm glad to have you.

I would love to have you use a lizardfolk... except this is the kingdom of the dwarves... while their metal or other goods showing up is very possible and probable, one of them showing up... well... they don't even let elves into their kingdom. Lizardfolk? We're talking hate crimes...

The only way to get away with having a "monster" race as a PC in Thoradur is to have them in the wild, or countryside, and only hook up with the party out there. I did that with a mud dwarf and half-ogre character, and it worked, though they missed out on all the town and steading interactions. In this campaign, much of what we do will be in Lorindar, so it just wouldn't work out.

Any other ideas for a race? :D

Heh, kind of funny, didn't realise the Mittendien humans were the ones allowed I simply picked them because they struck my fancy.... love it when coincidence works in my favor!

Interesting about the absolute ban on the Lizardfolk as we had established trade between the 2 nations early in the Age of Kings and Paludosus did ally itself with Cryndon to put pressure on Mittendein not to attack Thoradur back in AK12.

I know that that you decided that Thoradur would not ask for help from LN Paludosus but that help did arrive due to the request from the dwarves of Cryndon, but I was sure we agreed that the two countries would trade with each other.

Historically Galvar and Naeron never went head to head and the Paludosans never got involved in the March of Evil except to quash some evil armies that crossed their borders, also dwarves are well treated within Paludosus so I'm not sure about a historical bias or hostility.

Also the Paludosans are now a separate sub-race from the Liardfolk in the MM (as they ended up ECL +3). Anyhow I will put another PC up.

Sorry that I haven't posted in a while. Most of you know that there was a fire where I live, a crazy firestorm that swept through my community and much of southern california like a tidal wave. In my little hilltop community east of San Diego lost 300 homes. There wasn't one firetruck to stop it. Half the homes on my street were wiped out. Mine was not. But I can't go home for several weeks, so things are not well.

Silverglass, the hostility between the dwarves of Thoradur and the lizardfolk is not waranted, I know. It just is because the mountain dwarves who rule, are racist ethnocentric people who don't trust outsiders especially dudes with scales and lizard heads. :) It could be interesting to develop a relationsihp between them though. But there just isn't one right now. Dwarves have only recently let humans into their kingdom, after they fought together and spilt blood together. Its going to take a while before they allow the slee stacks into their kingdom. :)

Maybe we can work on something though. But as for this campaign, a lizarddude wouldn't work.

I'm really sorry to hear about being evacuated, and happy your house is still standing. You're very lucky. I hope this rain that has rolled into the LA area up here is also heading your way.

Anyway, back to our regularly scheduled program: I have Grendl Kraigheim ready on paper, have registered him on Playbyweb, and requested he be added to your game there. I still need to send a character sheet to T13K.......where are those things anyway........and I'll send you a copy too.

Okay, I'm back home and back in action. I'm trying to figure out of the people that have asked to be added which are part of 13 Kingdoms, that's why I need to know the name of your character.

For those I have added, please post so the automated system doesn't delete our forum. It will if no one has posted after so long.

Thanks. More to come.
