Using piece of knotted rope from his pack, Xandren is able to loop it over the railing of the ship. The warforged climbs up first, to scan for threats. With a gesture, he motions the rest of them up. Bodies are strewn all over the deck. Blood pools in some places where it can't flow off the side of the ship. Many limbs, hacked off viciously, lay next to the corpse they came from. Two sets of stairs on both ends of the ship lead to raised decks. Doors are set into the raised areas, both are closed. The sails are limp, they were refurled, to prevent from being pushed further into the reef. A grated cover, conceals stairs that lead belowdecks.

Meanwhile on the beach...

Eliza sighs and responds to the shifter's statement. "I would doubt, it unless you know more than I do. My journal and clothes are all I have aboard there. Rex too, of course."

Stellan looks around the beach, for threats. He catches a glint of metal from behind him. He quickly stands, and pulls his axe from it's harness.

A number of figures step from the shadows of the jungle. Goblinoids. A tall hobgoblin, in spiked plate armor stands in the lead. A pair of hobgoblin soldiers flank him. Other goblins, some with crossbows, others with short blades, stand further back in the shadows.

The one in plate speaks, his voice deep. "Looks like somebody took care of Glick and his damn bugs for us. That make our job much easier."

He knew it was going to be bad, but Lorn still wasn't prepared for the scene of carnage that had been painted across the deck. It reminded him of the last thing he saw before he came to this accursed place. Gripping his staff so hard that his knuckles turned white he tried to maintain his cool with monumental effort. Fighting a silent inner battle for control he finally spoke in low hoarse voice.

We need to look for survivors.

Lorn pointed toward the raised deck and doors with his staff.

Stick together...

Thormir looks around in awe, mouth open, staring at the horrible scene.
Oh...crap. He slowly raises his arm, and points an open hand towards a raised deck. Yup, c'mon children, ye go and step forward. I'll fry anything that comes out of that hellhole.

ooc:ready to blast anything that is undead and comes out of anywhere...just blast anything that's rotting!

Hesh looks grim but determined. He whistles loudly. If you're alive or close to it, groan! We're here to help. Oh, and if your name is Rex, bark or something! Hesh indicates he'll look in one of the above deck regions, he signals Xandren to look into the other. To the dwarf and ... "human"... he adds, You two, keep an eye out.

Stellan places himself between Eliza and the goblinoids. If Glick was a paranoid goblin, then I "took care" of him, he says firmly, showing no sign of concern about their presence.

Hesh and Xandren look in one of the areas above the deck. The side that Xandren looks opens up into a large room. Hammocks and bedrolls are arranged about the room. Barrels and tables are also here. It appears to be a sleeping area for the crew. It also seems to double as a mess hall, judging by the discarded food and bowls. Hesh opens his door, only to find another hallway. There are doors on either side of the hallway.

On the beach...

The leader of the goblin's speaks, "You seem pretty confident, considering there are only two of you." A goblin, holding a staff, and wearing a dark hooded robe steps forward, whispering in the ear of the armored hob.

[sblock=Perception 22]The goblin whispers something. From what you can hear and determine from lip reading, is says something about magic, a headband, and scaled ones.[/sblock]

Eliza, standing behind Stellan whispers, "What do we do? We can't fight them all."

Your's just the mess? Ask up if anyone's alive in there then follow me in here. He waits near the right hand door for the warforged to join him. Indicating the left door, Hesh will search the right... assuming nothing else comes up...
