Lost My Marbles Somewhere...

So I recently put a build together that had me looking through many books and pdf's from FR stuff, to Races of the Wild, PHBI/II, DMGI/II, Complete Series, Arms and Armor, Sword and Fist etc.

In our session last night we ended up killing 3 of 5 displacer beast that decided our camping party looked tasty - we salvaged a couple hides and I am positive (only fools are positive??) I remembered reading a magic item description that read "made from the hide of a displacer beast" in it.
Now I read through every entry in the Magic Item Compendium and unless eye strain caused me to miss it I don't believe it was in there anymore, the obvious Cloak of Displacement's entry in the DMG doesn't specify displacer beast hide...

Does anyone know that magic item this might have been from?? I'm going nuts. I'm thinking maybe it was an older 3.0 entry for the Cloak of Displacement but I can't even find that now, if there was one....

You could always rule that the GP cost for materials for a Cloak of Displacement is a displacer beast hide.

[MENTION=85158]Dandu[/MENTION]; this is what I have seen a lot of forum answers for in my internet search for magic items that have displacer beast in some type of description - however I'm sure I read in the italicized text for some magic item that it specifically stated it was made from 'hide of displacer beast' or 'displacer beast hide'

That armor from QR sounds damn near like it - however I don't have that book or PDF so not sure how I would've seen it... I'm actually going to look for it now, QR that is, to see if that armor is it.

In 1st/2nd Edition you needed Displacer Beast hide to make a Cloak of Displacement.

That may be what you're remembering but not finding.
