Seems tricky, what with the Earth also moving rapidly through space. I suppose that could be accounted for, somehow.

That's the part where the electro-magnetism keeps you relatively positioned to the center of the Earth. :D

Edit: To be more clear. I don't think the island is going to move right away. I think the island will be moved once the O6 (including Sayed) get off the island. Once they are rescued, the island will get moved (while Ben and the rest of the Oceanic survivors are still on it). Then eventually Ben will leave the island w/ no way to know where it actually moved to..

BTW, I missed the first half of this weeks' episode (and haven't caught up with it yet at abc.com)- did they clarify that they are actually physically going to move the island, or are they just going to do something with the electromagnetic energy under the island and reset the coordinates that it appears to be located at (and possibly the time shift as well)?

Still, I'm just a bit tired of why some element gets introduced every few episodes and it becomes the new macguffin. ('The Cabin'... now it's 'The Orchid Station') Seriously... what next?

He says while posting on a D&D board. I know as a DM I do this all the time, a good means of broadening the plot w/out revealing everything at once.

Lost is a great D&D campaign model, the focus is small, survival, and now we have broadened to the knowledge that at least 2 factions are fighting for control for the Island, and frankly the Island itself might count as a 3rd faction.

Raft holds six - six make it home - Merc has a dead man switch - ship rigged to go BOOM (there is always a BOOM).

I think Sun leaves the boat.
Boat goes BOOM.
Jinn dies. Swayer dies.
Jack, Hugo, Kate, and Sayid are picked up by Sun (and baby)
Island starts to move in time.
Ben jumps into transporter, finds six month to a year has gone by.

We know Jinn doesn't die. He was in the flashforwards when Sun was giving birth. Sun did seem to think he was dead IIRC, though.

Ah, but he wasn't in a flashforward that episode. That was the trick to the editing, it appeared that, Jin was in a flashback, Sun in a flashforward, and that Jin was at least treated as if her were dead by Sun.

We don't know that Jin is alive or not, but Sun made sure he had a memorial....

Yeah, in that episode Jin referred to being married for only a short while, so it was a flashback for him. By the time he and Sun had first crashed on the island I believe they had been married for a few years.

I think Jin's dead in the future.

In the most recent episode, Sun says to her father, "Two men are responsible for my husband's death. You are one of them." She doesn't elaborate on who the second one is. My bet's on Ben, but it could be Michael instead because Michael and Jin were friends who had a falling-out.
