Yes!

Here's another great quote:

[at the seige of Helm's Deep]

DM: A big, mostly naked orc with a sparkly torch is running towards the wall.

PC1: Uh-oh! An NPC with a description! Shoot him!

PC3: Weren't there like, 2,000 orcs with torches? What's so special about this one?

PC2: I blast him! Twang twang twang!!! (rolls) Hah! A threat! (rolls again) Crit! Take that, running man! 51 points!

PC3: I mean, what's so special about this one? Is he gonna start the Orcolympics?

Very nice.

Frodo shouldn't be complaining about his stats though - everyone knows he's a finely optimized ring-destroying saving throw machine.

And Shamus Young missed one of the classic RPG moments in LotR: When Frodo "inherits" the high-level stuff accumulated by Dave's (the player) previous character (Bilbo) from the same campaign world. :)

Gee, I wonder how Drowbane found this site? :p

I was going to give ya credit for showing it to me... and the rest of our group... but I couldn't remember your EN-name. :P

I think DMotR is right up there with OotS!

Which didn't save him from the Natural 1 in the most crucial moment.
