LotR DVD details

Actually, there are THREE versions coming out.

In Aug., it will be the movie as shown in theaters with some extra discs containing behind-the-scenes stuff, etc.

In Nov., there will be the extended version of the movie along with some extras. Also released at this time will be the super-duper boxed collectors edition.

I already own the National Geographic DVD about the movie, so I'm glad they are offering two different sets containing the extended version of the movie.

Actually, if I read the report correctly here, the National Geographic special they include in the November box set will be a little different than the one that's in stores now.

And, for those of you waiting till November, realize that the special features in the August release will be different than the ones in the November release. :)

Go to Blockbuster. Buy a 10 week movie rental pass (you get one movie a week for 10 weeks). It costs $26 or so after tax. Then, on August 6, you get a free copy of the LOTR DVD! That way, you can get the original version "free", and buy the extended version in November.
