lotr question: is the new dvd out ?

A while ago, there as a petition running asking a full DVD version of the lord of the ring. I think it was supposed to be released in november. Is it out yet ?

Why was there a petition?

Multiple DVDs were inevitable given a) the massive box office returns, b) the sheer volume of material cut for theatrical release, and c) the masochistic spending patterns of fandom.

I guess I could see it (the three films) being recut again, and sold as a single film.

Its actually got me wondering how TTT will start. Will it start restating what happened in FOTR or assume FOTR is fresh in the minds of the audience.
