Goodman Titus is surprised to see the group at his farm but he gladly tells the tale again. Unfortunately there is nothing new in his telling and Captain Desarna leads the way to the cemetery. She unlocks the lock in the heavy, wrought iron gate and swings it open so the group can enter. ”I have looked around after receiving reports of the ghost but I haven’t found anything of note. The mausoleum is locked and hasn’t been entered in some time.” Desarna points up the hill. The mausoleum is visible but trees past it block the view of the hilltop. ”Beyond the mausoleum is the statue of the ancient king that the town takes its name after. Look around as long as you like and I’ll lock up later after you’ve finished your investigation. I hope you can lay this thing to rest.” She nods then turns and makes her way down the path to the town. The cemetery is surprisingly well cared for: stones are laid in a path leading to the mausoleum with lesser paths branching off to family plots surrounding the ornate stone structure. Zinnelis, Autumn, and Arradon spread out and begin looking around. It is pretty clear where the armored Captain Desarna trod during her investigation; her deep footprints cross in a fairly regular pattern throughout the cemetery. Unusually, several animal prints lead up the hill past the mausoleum then suddenly turn and head away from the summit. Moving up the hill the group reaches the edge of the cemetery and are forced to clamber over the fence or circle around. Breeze moves the branches of the trees, rustling leaves but strangely there is no birdsong, no skittering of squirrels in the trees, or any other typical animal sound. At the summit of the hill is a clearing in the woods and an ancient stone statue of a crowned warrior stands staring regally into the distance.
