Pathfinder 1E [LPF] Perception is Reality

Grabbing his spear off the floor, Ethan stands. He puts his hand on the back of the chair and starts to push it back into place, then stops and shrugs. Looking at the rest of the group, he adds to the conversation, "I don't know which place is better than the other, so we may as well do things in order of convenience. Anything else, before we leave?"

Vincenzo gets a mischievous look in his eye, "Other then that spot of dirt over in that corner, nope. Nothing."

First Post
Maui rumbles in agreement with the idea to visit the house on the way to the graveyard. Tail twitching he heads out the door and Taniwha falls in beside him as they head to the undead girl's family home to investigate.

Leaving the little gnome shuffling for one last bit of grime, the group heads to the home of Mindy Wallace. The streets are deathly quiet as ever. Nothing accosts or otherwise interacts with you on the way over, but you begin to sense that something is amiss as you near the location as described by the gnome. Finally it dawns on you--there is no light marking the location as noteworthy as with the Temple of Ruvalra and the Clockwork Boar. However, as you draw closer, something becomes apparent--while there is no light, definition is starting to from as you near the Wallace home. By the time you arrive there, the small middle class dwelling has all the detail you would expect, albeit with no column of light illuminating the location.

Two windows and the front door face the street, all boarded up. A low fence marks off what little 'yard' there is, the small home nearly touching its poorly defined neighbors on either side.

Barlo Hawkins, Human Bard

Barlo’s was not in a hurry to rush into the area first. He cast his cantrip (detect Magic) to check for magical auras and said, “Maui, do you by chance smell anything unusual yet?”

The area not being like the rest of the city was a positive sign as clues went, but they still might end up with more questions than answers.

First Post
Maui sniffs the air, and with a low almost inaudible growl instructs Taniwha to do the same. After conferring with his companion about the various smells they may have or may not have detected, Maui gives his reply to the bard's question. The great cat then adds "Whatever te place is or not is... what we find here... Maui think it will be real." The jungle warrior, shackles instinctively raised, had a feeling that it was not only going to be very real what they found, but also very dangerous.

[sblock=OOC]Maui DC24) and Taniwha (DC16) will take 10 on survival checks related to Scent [/sblock]

Vincenzo silently draws his rapier doing an all around look about them as he does, spinning in place with a grace of a master swords man. He observes all going about.

Maui and Taniwha sniff about, meandering here and there as they do as Vincenzo covers the group, staying vigilant. However, neither cat can detect a whiff of anything, the annoying non-scent of the place becoming apparent once again. Vincenzo comes up similarly--focusing on his senses reminding him of the unnatural silence.

However, sifting through the elevated background magic, Barlo can sense magic upon the door and windows of the small dwelling. Concentrating further, he can discern the magic to be abjuration school. Ethane notices Barlo's subtle 'aha' for just a moment, but goes back to standing watch, spear ready and pointed down the street.

[sblock=Distance]So far, I'm assuming none have come within about 20 feet or so of the front of the house.[/sblock]
