DISREGARD THIS POST.

I don't think Mecha and Manga even mentioned anything about mecha using extra effort (but it mentioned about what various status conditions would do). However, I'm treating extra effort on a mecha the same way extra effort is handled with a device:

DEVICES AND EXTRA EFFORT
When you acquire a Device choose whether the strain of using extra effort applies to you or the Device itself (see Extra Effort, M&M, page 120). If it applies to you, follow the normal extra effort rules. If it applies to the Device, then using extra effort to enhance the Device’s traits places stress on its construction or systems. A “fatigued” Device loses 2 power points from each of its effects. An “exhausted” Device loses 6 power points from each of its effects, and a Device pushed beyond exhausted is disabled and stops working. The modifiers last until the Device is repaired (a simple or moderate repair task, respectively, see the Craft skill, M&M, page 45).

I'll have to fully read what Anime and Manga saids... the point differences between Mecha and Standard devices is bugging me... I'll post after work.

Shayuri, To make this easy to understand, I will use "Deezy" and "the Beast" in this info blast.

First off, the Beast is not a device and the Beast is a construct, which means you treat the Beast like a psuedo character rather then an object. This means the Beast has its own equivolant to injured, disabled, dying, fatiqued, and exhausted conditions, at least in terms of penalties.

To use extra effort on the Beast, Deezy needs to make a DC 15 manouvering (pilot/drive) check. This allows the Beast to use ANY extra effort feature on any of the Beasts weapons or systems. The beast then becomes "fatigued" (-2 Str and Dex; -1 attack and defense), Deezy, does not. However, Deezy can use a hero point to eliminate the Beast's "fatigue". Deezy could use extra effort on herself and the Beast at the same time, however penalties stack while Deezy is piloting the Beast.

However this is where it gets nasty. Instead of having the beasts condition worsen by doing fatiguing thing when fatigued, the Beasts condition worsens by Deezy failing manuevre checks while the beast is fatiqued. In other words, you kill the mecha by red-lining it.

Repairing the beast, is a subject for another post.

On another topic entirely :) I'm heading out to convention land again next week, hopefully for the last time this year. Expect slower posting from saturday to, well, saturday: it's going to be a long one, folks!

Yes, sorry, I should have said. Deezy will advance, but next round I think I'll try some Extra Effort. Overcharging the laser perhaps...or rigging a temporary connection between the reactor and the 'main gun,' which is currently inactive because it draws more power than she's been able to coax out of the old girl.

But hey, if she only needs one shot...muahahaha...

I think the lesson that should be learned is never give your bases a name that includes the word "Grave." It makes me wonder what will happen when you guys end up in "Slaughter town."

BTW.. Next update of mine will be a "new chapter" (since the mooks are subject to reflex saves to see if they catch on fire). Also give yourselves a hero point cause the plan to blow up the base was alot cooler then the protracted mook slaughter feast I originally had planned.

Also... flash freezing Abel from a far while she was in the water bubble made me laugh (oh so exploitable). :D
