While things are still quiet, I'm putting Solaris back into HeroLab, see if I can tweak him a bit. Nothing major (though finding a way to do "Desireable" and "Getting Lucky" as Advantages would save a few points...)

EDIT: Hmm. I seem to have lost 5 points of powers somewhere....

Just take the Attractive feat.

Could do, I suppose. Though the original concept of Desireable (before I chickened out and built it as an Aflliction) was to reduce the targets Will rather than boost Solaris's Persuasion.

Might get rid of Extra Condition & that second Limited, just to simplify it.

Reducing someone's Will doesn't really equate to being desirable though, in my view. Consider that reducing someone's Will could mean that he's there and Echo is there. He uses the whammy on, say, Lois Lane and it works.

Then Echo tries to persuade her. Even though your power has nothing to do with Echo, Lois still finds it hard to resist her. The reduction in her Will is global, that is...it's not limited just to you. Nor is it limited just to persuasion. A psychic would find the target of your ability easier to affect, even if he commanded the target to attack you.

Just comes with too much baggage. Simpler and easier to just say it's a bonus to your persuasion skills, as per RAW. Then the effect is limited in both crucial ways (ie - it affects only your dealings, and only when you try to persuade using the appropriate skills) and it requires no special rules, no additional complexity...and significantly, for your teammates, it gives us a handle on roleplaying.

We all know how to RP "he or she is hot." It's harder to know how to RP something like, "He's average looking, but is constantly trying to control my mind and erode my will in his presence."

(^_^)

"uses the Whammy" isn't really the intent, which is why it's bought as a Reaction. As to the 'global' part... would "Limited to vs own Persuasion" work?

Seems like an inelegant and complicated way to create Attractive as a power. It does the same thing - a Will penalty limited to only your Persuasion is pretty much a Persuasion bonus mechanically, right? Why not just take Enhanced Trait: Very Attractive and be done with it? Like Shayuri said, a Will sapping power doesn't seem like Solaris is being "desirable" or "getting lucky" - makes him seem like a mind controller of some sort, which frankly kinda creeps me out.

I think Zatara said hat, not Supes. He uses blue as speaking color for him.

The illusory Man of Steel turned to the collected group of teens and rubbed his square-jaw. "Hmmm. This clue could have been left by my old nemesis; Metallo!"

Hey, if you want to define this as pheremones, then I'd withdraw my comments. Pheremones would be a totally different concept, and much more in line with the mechanics you're cobbling together.

My beef isn't with the power. It's that you're using an agonizingly complicated set of abilities to model something that the game gives you a very elegant and simple alternative to accomplish the -exact same thing-...make your character good looking.
