I haven't gotten to play M&M yet, but I love the system. However, my players are still more interested in D&Desque fantasy by a long shot, and I think that, given it's intent and the initial assumptions of its design, M&M could but probably shouldn't be used to play fantasy games. That said, I wonder how close PL in M&M really is to ECL in D&D. I know the 3.5 MM has guidelines for designing new creatures, but they look to be just that, guidelines. I wondered if instead I could just use the M&M rules to design a creature, and it's powerlevel would give it's CR.
If anyone's played both and can comment on the equivalence of characters from one game to the other, say PL10 characters in M&M & 10th level characters in D&D, or opponents in one versus opponents in the other, as a litmus test, I'd appreciate the insight.
If anyone's actually tried this, that'd be even better.
