I don't have a template for Symbiotes, primarily because Carnage and Venom are both special cases in much of thier abilities because thier evolution and resulting powers were largely tied to thier history with Spiderman (namely Venom developed his we shooting, wall crawling, immunity to spider sense and so forth because of his time as the symbiotic partner of Spiderman, and Carnage too took on many of these traits as the offspring of Venom).

However the Symbiotes species in general do have a few common traits.

1. Elongation (they are highly morphic beings that can stretch and change shape, extend psuedo pods and form edged weapons). In game terms this can be reflected with Elongation, Growth, Natural Weapon powers.
2. Other abilities they evolve to use is largely dependant upon the host (as seen with Spidey and the symbiote it gains the ability to wall crawl, use web, swing, avoid spider sense etc...) these abilities need not necessarily be part of the host physically in order for the symbiote to learn and adapt versions of them for itself (such as venom having unlimited more powerful webs adapted from its host trying to cast webs by thinking it).
3. Symbiotes always improve the physical nature of host/symbiote together significantly (Super Strength, Dexterity and Constitution are almost certainly present).
4. Extremely susceptibility to sonic and Fire effects, needing to make a Fortitude save (DC15 +1 per exposure or minute of exposure) whenever exposed to either. If the save fails then they becomes fatigued. After the next failed save they become exhausted and will become unconscious if they fails thier next save. If exposed again and fail thier save they are Dying, but can become unconscious (not disabled) if removed from exposure before they dies.
5. A symbiote cannot function alone, thus if thier host is Dying then the symbiote leaves them moving at half speed, it will either hide or seek out another host.
6. The symbiotes do not control a host while they are conscious but can give them urges and thoughts, which they wouldn't normally have (seen in spiderman when he has the symbiote costume by his increased aggression) This could be reflected by Mind Control (with the uncontrolled flaw, triggered by sleep and/or stress).
