Deezy hmmed and stared off into space for a moment, then snapped out of it.

"Basically...we'll need to try to create a contained flow," she said finally. "So the aether is like a river running from the blower to the vent...with no chance to spread out into the room."

She thumbed the communications panel. "Hey, that level's underground, there must be vents to carry away the bad air. Big, slow fans in the walls or ceiling. Is there anything like that close to the blower? Or...even if not close, where are they?"

Brian nods, realizing they've left large obstacles lying about in the form of the crabs.

They set to work with alacrity, Seif at least feeling the crush of time.

OOC: Do you want a roll for this, Relique?

What's intercom-man's name by the way (or did he just ignore Seif's question?)? A title could be nice too (this guy seems wel informed, so an engineer/planner of some kind?)

Brian Shaughnessy

Brian stays back to let Seif do the actual destruction, instead turning the robotic shells and innards quickly brittle by robbing them of all their inherent heat energy.

OOC: Weaken is an auto-succeed, I believe, so Brian can drop the toughness of one crab by 6 each round. One assumes once they have no toughness, they're essentially no longer obstacles, since any contact at all would shatter them (or the pieces of them. Not sure if it's faster for Brian to Weaken a crab to 0 while Seif trashes another, or for them to work in concert on each one. Probably the latter.

OOC: Woops. I didn't catch your asking his name. I read "klatta.." while reading via tapa-talk, so I didn't catch the that the following "<response ..>" was aimed at him. So um... he wasn't ignoring, he just didn't hear the question.

OOC: Actually, that is partially wrong. The crab's toughness is based on their armor's chassis durability. Even though it is an obstacle, to destroy it you would have to knock it's toughness down to -5 or beat it's toughness by +5 Damage on a break attempt. However, that said, If Seif and Brian work together, you can destroy it in one round. (Toughness Save of -1 vs +6 Damage = Destroyed).

OOC: No need since both Brian, Sahid, and Seif would eventually destroy the crabs after hacking away at them.

It does not take long for Sief and Brian to clear the robot debris from the passage as well as to unblock the elevator gates. Soon after the passage was cleared to their liking, the Elder returned with Sahid from the village.

The elder spoke, as he helped distributed the suits. "These suits were recently tested, so I do not think we need to worry too much about their condition. Be careful when you put these suits on, since you do not want to rip them."

"Klatta, you will find a way to do the former with- Your name?"
A short silence.

"What is your name?" spelled out the desert man.

<Response Intercom-man?>

"What are you doing?" inquired that worthy after a very short while, obviously not that comfortable with a staring Shaughnessy at his back...

"Hm." Not looted. Not vandalized. It seemed almost... miraculous.

Seif let that drop from his mind and set about helping his people suit up, going last before Klatta. His movements were business-like, efficient. He'd done this before, obviously, and this was one area were speed could kill. (Or worse, mutate.)

[sblock=Actions]For each one Seif will check oxygen levels in the tanks, apparent suit integrity and finish with a leak test (turn up the oxygen supply on the fully closed/suited up suit and see if any leaks develop). He'll also check that each suit has its usual leak repair kit attached. Take10 on Survival(?) for a 21.

How much oxygen is included in each suit, by the way?[/sblock]

"Making them brittle enough to shatter," Brian responds. "I figured you'd be more comfortable if I weren't doing that right next to you."

Brian has his own nervous moment as Seif goes over the suit integrity. Not knowing much about them, himself, the young man can only trust the guide isn't sabotaging his...

From the look he gets, it seemed he figured wrong.

"Those people down there-" he began, still concentrating on the suit checklist. "Some will die. Some will resist the pull longer than others... Some will not. They can Change, at any time... And then they will start killing." That was the terrible beauty of the warlord's punishment. "There is no need to add another."
